This chapel is one of many located in Ħal-Għaxaq. This chapel has the same dedication to Christ the Redeemer as a shrine located in the vicinity. The inhabitants of Ħal-Għaxaq contributed to the construction of this chapel which took place in 1852 by collecting donations.

A ship graffito etched in fine and shallow incisions. The typology of the ship is difficult to determine due to other graffiti superimposing the ship graffito. At least two flags can be made out.

A beak is present at the bow together with some decoration on the forward portion of the hull. Two sets of flags can be seen; one rectangular flag bearing the Union Jack and another flag of a swallowtail shape.

Likely dating to the 19th century, this ship graffito depicts a steamer. This ship graffito bears some indication of rigging, a flag and a smokestack. The name ‘Alfredo Farrugia’ and the date ‘20/3/84’ might have a contextual relationship with the ship graffito.

A simpler depiction of a ship can be seen. There is some indication of rigging, however, superimposing graffiti distracts from the identification of the ship’s typology and detail.

Another steamer ship depiction can be seen featuring two masts and a smokestack. The name ‘Alfredo Rotzen’ and a date are present in the same format and style as ship graffito #3.

A steamer is depicted with two masts, standing rigging, a smokestack and a flag. The ship’s propeller is also present at the stern of the ship. The numbers ‘89’ have been etched amidships of the hull likely signifying a date.

Feint lines serve as an indication of a ship graffito. The hull of the ship is barely seen together with a yard and a mast that depict the ship’s rigging.

An inaccurate representation of a ship’s hull has been etched with deep incisions. Feint lines above the hull may be the ship’s rigging, however, these have eroded and almost disappeared completely.
