Although this church dates back to the fourteenth century, very little is known about its early years. It has, however, been consistently taken care of since its construction. Also, it has not gone through many changes since the 1300s. In 1705, Feliċ Axiaq paid for the roofing of the pre-existing parvis. Following this, in 1933, a new vestry and a teaching hall were added. Its last owners were the Dominican Sisters, who looked after it until 1991.

A simple etching of a ship’s hull

This graffito bears a ship of similar typology as other ship graffiti located on this chapel. It is likely a depiction of a British period steamship. The bowline is pronounced and the hull is decorated with a series of dots. The flag at the stern and other features are present but difficult to make out.
